DEEP CREEK AREA — Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fort Myers man for walking out of Walmart, 375 Kings Highway near Deep Creek, on Monday with two 32-inch flat screen televisions. Charged with grand theft and violation of Lee County felony probation was Donald Kirk Berry, 50, of the 300 block of Flamingo Circle. Walmart security called CCSO to report Berry had been observed putting the two televisions in a cart and leaving the building without paying for them. A deputy quickly responded and stopped Berry in the parking lot with the two TVs. Berry told the deputy he was “almost done with being on parole.” Value of the TVs was $496.

CCSO Communications ran a check on Berry that showed he was on active felony probation in Lee County and the Walmart arrest violates his probation. He was transported to the Charlotte County Jail, where he remains on no bond.
