PUNTA GORDA — Residents who open a time capsule on this city’s 150th anniversary in 2037 will get a warm greeting from the past, a fresh way to gauge the progress they’re sure to have made since 2012.

That’s based on some of the items current residents and groups have submitted to be placed in the capsule as part of the city’s 125th anniversary celebration under way this month. The capsule is to be sealed by the City Council on Dec. 10.
