PORT CHARLOTTE — Corey Kern was frustrated.

The Lemon Bay High School senior had chance after chance in the first half Thursday against Port Charlotte, and each went the same way. A perfect pass from the middle, a shouting crowd, Kern catching up to the ball in front of the defense and taking a shot. Every time, the shot flew just wide or Pirate freshman Parker Murno made the save.
