Three teens were injured in a crash when the driver lost control of his vehicle Monday and rolled into a ditch, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Tyler Hartley, 17, of Punta Gorda, was driving a 2004 Ford Ranger south on Grove Boulevard just before 2 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle. Two other Punta Gorda teens, Tyler Allen, 19, and Phelisha Doggett, 16, were passengers in the car and were both wearing their seat belts.

The vehicle fishtailed, then veered off the roadway before it rolled nearly 66 feet, finally landing in the ditch on the west side of Grove Boulevard, the report states.

According to the report, Doggett suffered critical injuries and was taken to Charlotte Regional Medical Center, while Hartley, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital. Allen suffered minor injuries.
