SOUTH VENICE — About 100 area middle and high school teachers and administrators gathered Tuesday at State College of Florida’s Venice campus for an education summit to learn about the latest best practices in science, technology, engineering and math as taught in Sarasota and Charlotte counties.

Sponsored by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, the summit featured a panel of area educators who have taught STEM subjects over the last two and a half years. The panel shared which methods have worked well for them over that time.
