Charlotte County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a convicted felon on suspicion of committing two burglaries Tuesday; this is his 21st booking with 47 records. Arrested was Bo William “Baby Boy” Cleveland, 27, 400 block of Dewhurst Street, Port Charlotte. Sunday, CCSO responded to a burglary at Fish Cove Adventure Golf, 4949 Tamiami Trail, Charlotte Harbor. Entry was made by force; a safe was unlocked and over $1,100 was taken. The subject left his fingerprints and palm print on a window and CCSO Crime Scene technicians matched them to Bo Cleveland. A BOLO was issued for his arrest.
Tuesday, a road patrol deputy responded to a complaint of a beige Chevrolet van with two men taking scrap metal items from a home in the 21000 block of Peachland Boulevard. A deputy located the van and made a traffic stop at Gibralter Drive and Birchcrest Boulevard in Port Charlotte. Deputies recognized Cleveland as a passenger in the van driven by a 43-year-old man. The driver told deputies Cleveland asked him to give him a ride to pick up scrap metal at the Peachland Boulevard home. Cleveland also told him he had permission to enter the home owned by a bank. In the rear of the van there was about 15 pounds of scrap metal and copper freshly cut along with miscellaneous tools and an outdoor grill. Crime Scene technicians observed the metal wiring and copper matched the cut wire found in the van. Cleveland was arrested and taken to the Charlotte County Jail where he remains on no bond due to his extensive criminal history and being a convicted felon.
