Museum to mark POW/MIA day
Th e Military Heritage Museum and the U.S. Paratroopers will hold a commemorative program Sept. 15 in honor of POW/MIA Recognition Day. This will start at 1 p.m. in Center Court at Fishermen’s Village in Punta Gorda, and will be followed by a reception in the museum.
The program includes guest speaker Ed Dostie, World War II former prisoner of war, whose talk will be “Days of Service.” Dostie, an Air Force veteran, was a prisoner for 23 months and spent most of his time in Stalag 17B, near Krems, Austria.
