Paul Krugman
misses the point
Editor:
Mr. Krugman’s op-ed piece on Aug. 26 misses the point concerning the productivity of the taxpaying population. The author suggests that Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged” should not be taken for what it is. Written some time ago, it is now a commentary on the current times. How long does Mr. Krugman think that the very quickly diminishing number of taxpayers will remain productive in order to support the 47 percent who are not paying taxes? What is the incentive for those paying taxes to remain productive?
