I was appalled to read the viewpoint article by Steven Kurlander on Sept. 21 attacking our First Amendment rights. Of course he is a left-wing spokesman for a left-wing organization. That being said, how can he ask Americans to restrict their constitutionally protected rights so that we do not “offend” Muslims. I assume that he would want the government to decide what First Amendment rights we can have. That is a prescription for totalitarianism.
