We can all breathe a sigh of relief when Congress recesses until the week after the election. I’m certain the recess was not planned for our benefit but designed so some senators and representatives can complete their campaigns. We wouldn’t want to interfere with the important business of re-election by insisting on attention to such things as unemployment, foreign policy, inflation and gas prices.
