True heroes
go unnoticed

I sat and watched the
LBHS homecoming festivities
in Englewood this past weekend. I’m writing because something got lost in all the regalia of the night. About 40 participants were there fulfilling a higher duty. Granted, they are a minority in the hundreds of kids who attend LBHS. They are the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training cadets. Very quietly and without any fanfare
they took and graced the Veterans Field. There was no announcement of their names like the other “stars” of the night. No one seemed to care.
