For four years, North Port City Commissioner Michael Treubert has gotten up before city residents and spoken his mind. Difficult or not, Treubert has not shied away from opinions.

He has carried the ball for one project that is extremely unpopular with a segment of the population — the Big League Dreams ballpark idea. He was willing to put himself far out on a limb for it. Like it or not, he has done it for the right reasons. He believes in it.
