Linda Lou VanKampen Hartt

Linda Lou VanKampen Hartt, 50, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012.

She was born Feb. 17, 1962, in Holland, Mich.

Linda was raised in Muskegon, Mich. She was best known as a loving, devoted mom, “soccer mom” to her sons RJ and Austin, and all of her Tuesday “Burrito Kids.” Linda enjoyed collecting elephants, angels and homemade pottery, and loved to travel. She was a dedicated employee of the Punta Gorda Elks for 16 years, where she was an active member serving as Lodge Youth Activities Chairman. Linda was a past P.T.O. President for Sallie Jones Elementary, and received the honor of Charlotte County Schools 2005 Volunteer of the Year. Her beautiful, caring spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Linda is survived by her loving family, including her sons, Roger “RJ” Hartt Jr. and Austin Hartt; parents, James and Bonnie VanKampen of Muskegon; sister, Maxine (Phil) Bennett of Punta Gorda; brother, Scott (Wendy) Randall of Muskegon; sister, Wendy (Bob) House of Punta Gorda; brother, Todd (Ruth) Randall of Muskegon; six nephews; four nieces; five great-nephews; three great-nieces; and best friends, Tim Roberts of Punta Gorda, Becky Brockett of Port Charlotte, Fla., Cindy Devries of Muskegon, and Cathy Wieder of Punta Gorda. She is preceded in death by her mother, Pat Cerbone; and sister, Geri Troxel.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, along the Peace River at the Punta Gorda Elks Lodge, 25538 Shore Drive, Punta Gorda.
