Dorothy Brudzinski, 90, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda.

She was born Jan. 31, 1922, in Akron, Ohio.

Dorothy moved to Punta Gorda in 2008, from Summerfield, Fla. She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Women’s Army Corps. In Dorothy’s early career she was a hairdresser and in her later years loved giving her time to families with handicapped children, and was a hospice volunteer.

She is survived by her loving family, her husband of 65 years, Henry J. Brudzinski of Punta Gorda; a sister, Helen Gochet of Punta Gorda; a brother, Peter Vardich of Michigan; and many loving nieces; and nephews.

Graveside services and interment with military honors by a U.S. Army Honor Guard will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Fla. Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to sign the memorybook and extend condolences to the family.
