He was born Oct. 13, 1942, in Denver, Colo., to Gerald Henry and Dorothy (nee Snow) Quick.

Gordy will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to many. He always said he was proud to be an American and to have served his country. Subsequently, Gordy worked at Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, Conn., as a Metallurgical Engineer for 37 years. He and his wife Linda lived in South Windsor, Conn., before retiring to Punta Gorda in 2004, where he served as a director of the Burnt Store Lakes Property Owners Association from 2009 until 2012. Gordy also served on the golf handicap committee of the Burnt Store Golf and Activity Club, where he enjoyed much of his retirement golfing with good friends in the Over-the-Hill Gang golf league.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda; son, David (Samantha) Quick; grandsons, Gregory and Geoffrey Quick of Bellevue, Wash.; sister, Dorothy “Gerrie” Swart of Brighton, Colo.; brother- and sister-in-law, Michael and Joyce Jylkka of Punta Gorda; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
