Katherine Mary Crassweller

Katherine Mary Crassweller, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2012.

She was born Nov. 30, 1933, in Elgin, Ill., to Frank and Agnes Schmitendorf.

Katherine moved to Punta Gorda, Fla., in 1991. She was very active in golf and bridge.

Katherine is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Bob) Nathan of Deerfield, Ill., and Lisa (Brett) Perry of Elgin; sons, Jay (Judy) Geldmacher of Elgin, and Tom (Audra) Geldmacher of Madison, Wis.; stepdaughters, Nancy Crassweller of Madison, and Julie Crassweller of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren, Brittany Geldmacher, Clayton, Tyler Ann, Jack Geldmacher, Matthew Ulrich, Emma Kay, Thomas and Jonathan Perry; step-grandchildren, Dave and Rachel Nathan, Nick Brusdewitz, Joe and Sam Cornak, and Henry and Louisa Frishholz; and brother, Frank (Doris) Schmitendorf of Punta Gorda.

There will be a private, family-only service in Elgin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Animal Welfare League, 3519 Drance St., Port Charlotte, FL 33980; or Tidewell Hospice Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte.
