Dorothy A. Koch, 89, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Village Place Health and Rehab Center of Port Charlotte.

She was born Nov. 6, 1922, in New York, N.Y.

Dorothy moved to Port Charlotte 22 years ago, from West Islip, L.I., N.Y. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and needlepoint. Dorothy will be remembered for her extreme generosity, and her wonderful sense of humor.

She is survived by her loving family, daughters, Karen A. (Chris) Maher of Port Charlotte, and Diane (Mike) Kelley of Phoenix, Ariz.; son, Steven M. Koch of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and grandchildren, Carrie, Shannon, Chris, Jenny, Steven, and James. Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Elbert F. Koch, who passed away in 2010.

Services will be private at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to sign the memorybook, and extend condolences to the family.
