Barbara C. Teachout, 82, died on September 16, 2012 surrounded by family. She was born March 2, 1930 to Roger and Helen Cheetham in Utica, NY. She was predeceased by her dearly loved husband of 58 years, Charles “Chuck” Teachout. She leaves behind her children; Susan (Craig) Heneka, Punta Gorda, FL, Gary Teachout, Richfield Springs, NY and David (Gisel) Teachout, Herkimer, NY. She worked as an RN for a brief time, married Chuck on May 12, 1951. They spent happy years together raising their children in Mohawk, NY before moving to Punta Gorda in 1990. They built their dream home and made many friends while members of the Charlotte County Jazz Society. Barbara loved Christmas; entertaining friends, family and neighbors during the holiday seasons. She loved the ocean, the beach and relished time spent with her toes in the sand and a great book in her hand. Her principal joy was listening to Chuck sing and play saxophone at many local venues. For them, it was truly “A Time For Love”.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Alliance Church on Midway in Port Charlotte on Thursday, September 20 at 4 PM.
