Zona Troxell

Zona Troxell, 76, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2012.

She was born June 21, 1936, in Cornettsville, Ky. to Ray and Cora Campbell.

Zona and her husband moved to this area in 1960, from Kentucky. Locally, she worked in the dry cleaning industry for over 30 years, as a Manager, Dry Cleaner, and Silk Presser until her retirement in 2000. Zona loved to quilt and crochet, go to the park with her family, and enjoyed life.

 She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Jerry) Gillespie; step-son, Clarence Troxell; sisters, Jan Isom, Bonnie (Dave) Garland, Maerene (Bill) Allen, Brenda (Coleman) Smith, and Palma (Dick) Hogg; brother, Tyrone (Minnie) Campbell; and many nieces and nephews. Zona was preceded in death by her husband James “Wendy” Troxell in 1982, her son, Richard Troxell, brothers, Hester and Bethel Campbell, sisters, Evelyn Thompson and Louise Campbell, as well as her parents.

 The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at the Kays-Ponger and Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E. Marion Ave., Punta Gorda, FL. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at the funeral home with burial at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens.
