Frances Sue Byers, 68, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away quietly Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at her Charlotte County, Fla., residence.

She was born in Pontiac, Mich.

Frances had been a legal secretary for 26 years, prior to her retirement in 2001. She moved to Florida from Detroit, Mich., in 1996, and moved to Port Charlotte from West Palm Beach, Fla., not quite two years ago.

She is survived by including her loving companion and husband of 44 years, John H. Byers of Port Charlotte; sisters, Carol Goldsworthy of Troy, Mich., and Judy Soley and Marcia Humphrey, both of Lake Worth, Fla.; and brothers, Harley Buchanan of Oxford, Mich., and Dennis Buchanan of Royal Oak, Mich.
