Richard A. Weber
Richard A. Weber, 78, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away September 18, 2012 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born March 16, 1934 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Bertha and William Weber.
Richard graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1955 with a degree in Industrial Engineering and obtained a Masters of Science degree in Industrial Management from Northeastern University in 1962. He worked many years at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N.Y. and retired from there in 1989. Richard and wife moved to Florida in 1993. During retirement he enjoyed carving birds, golfing and taking trips with his family. He was a member of Greece Baptist Church in Rochester and also Pilgrim UCC Church in Port Charlotte, Fla. He was a volunteer for many organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Beverly Weber; and four children, Susan (Allen) Bova and Linda Weber of Fort Myers, Fla., Valerie (Daniel) Derleth and Mark (Brenda) Weber of Rochester; six grandchildren, Kira and Andrew Newman, Bethany and Jordan Derleth and Tyler and Matthew Weber; and his sister, Janet (Donald) Lein of Ithaca, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Donald Weber.
A memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Pilgrim UCC Church in Port Charlotte. The family requests that donations be given in lieu of flowers to the Pilgrim UCC Church, 24515 Rampart Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33980 or the American Cancer Society, 992 Tamiami Trail Suite C2, Port Charlotte, Fla. 33953.
