Francis J. Zinar
Francis J. Zinar, 85, suddenly passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, in Port Charlotte, Fla.
He was born Jan. 19, 1927, and raised in Philadelphia, Pa.
Francis was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 110 and Moose Lodge 2121, both of Port Charlotte.
Francis is survived by his wife, Joan (nee Klauder) Zinar; daughter, Diane (nee Zinar) Wright of Philadelphia; son, Richard (Theresa Saskoczen) of Port Charlotte; he was “pop pop” of five grandchildren; and also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte. The funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Burial with Military Honors will follow at 1 p.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Fla.
