Nicholas A. Pierre, 54, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012.

He was born June 9, 1958, in Guyana, South America.

Nicholas moved to this area Oct. 31, 1995, from Uniondale, Long Island, N.Y. He was a general manager in the restaurant business. Nicholas was a member of the Hempstead Assembly of God in Long Island, and St. James Episcopal Church in Port Charlotte.

He is survived by his parents, Eustace Pierre of Guyana, South America, and Mennen Pieters of Port Charlotte; sister, Leslie Pieters of Long Island; brothers, Brian Pierre of Windsor, Conn., Christopher Pierre of Far Rockaway, N.Y., and Andrew Pierre of Port Charlotte; nieces and nephews, Letitia Pierre, Brian Pierre and Jackie Chambers; four aunts; and many wonderful cousins.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Sickle Cell Foundation, P.O. Box 11982, Tampa, FL 33680-1982.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society.
