Ronnie Lee “Ron” Pressley, 65, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born April 22, 1947, in Clintwood, Va., to Gladys and Everett Pressley.

Ron had been a resident of Punta Gorda since 1960. He is a 1965 graduate of Charlotte High School.

He is survived by his mother, Gladys; his wife of 45 years, Sharon; sons, Ronnie “Lee” Jr. (Dawn) and Jody (Dawn); grandchildren, Hunter, Reaghan, Riley and Grace; and many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E. Marion Ave., Punta Gorda. A celebration of his life will be held at the Pressley residence at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012.
