John Cimaglia

John Cimaglia, 86, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, in Port Charlotte.

He was born Jan. 1, 1926, in Cranston, R.I.

John came to Port Charlotte from Warwick, R.I., in 1989. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. John was a member of the American Legion and Elks Lodge in Rhode Island, and the Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge in Port Charlotte.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathleen E. of Punta Gorda, Fla.; daughters Joann (Gerald) Parenteau of Florida, and Lynn (Todd) Wabble of East Windsor, Conn.; step-daughter, Kimberly (Rob) Kurland of California; step-son, Scott Fitzgerald of Rhode Island; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, with services at 11:30 a.m. at Kays-Ponger and Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte.
