Ronald Alan Long
Ronald Alan Long, 58, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 12, 2012. Affectionately known by family and friends as “Ronnie”, he was born on May 12, 1954 in Highland, Indiana. At the young age of 19, Ronnie moved to Port Charlotte where he met the love of his life, Arlene. They were married in August 1974 and spent their life in the Charlotte county area, raising their daughter Kristen.
Ronnie was an avid outdoorsman, pilot and master finishing carpenter. His love for the outdoors brought him and his family on countless adventures around the country, creating a lifetime of incomparable memories for those who shared them with him. He was known to everyone around him as the hardworking, funny, and brilliant man that he was. But mostly, Ronnie was known for his love for God and humble spirit. His love for his family was apparent and abundant.
Ronnie is remembered and survived by his wife Arlene Long, 57, daughter Kristen Long, 31, parents Keith and Eleanor Long, brother Larry Long of Iowa, and countless devoted family members and loving friends.
