Robert E. Schaar
Robert E. Schaar, 79, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, in Port Charlotte.
He was born March 10, 1933, in Clayton, Ohio, to Herman Schaar and Adeline White Schaar.
Robert came to Port Charlotte from Arcanum, Ohio, in 1983. He was a member of the American Legion Post #110 of Port Charlotte and a past member of the North Port Moose Lodge. Robert was a U.S. Marine serving in the Korean War from 1952 until 1958.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rozenna of Port Charlotte; son, Randy Schaar of Orlando, Fla.; daughter, Bonnie Schaar of Port Charlotte; brother, William “Shorty” (Geraldine) of Arcanum, Ohio; sister-in-laws, Janice Schaar of Arcanum, Ethel Schaar of Lewisburg, Ohio, Vontilla (Lou) Durko of Englewood, Ohio, Marieda (Eugene) Stephenson of Orange City, Fla., and Theola Warner (Leroy Romer) of Kettering, Ohio; brother-in-law, Darwin (Judy) Shelton of Cartersville, Ga.; and adopted brother, Dwight Ressler of Arcanum. Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Donald and Jimmy Lee Schaar
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL.
