Charles Kidd
Charles Kidd, 88, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at his residence in Perry, Fla.
He was born July 21, 1924, in Gary, Ind., to Richard Kidd and former Elizabeth Brown Kidd.
Coming from Punta Gorda, Fla., Charles had lived in Perry since 2005. He was a member of the Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception. Charles served in the U.S. Navy and was a World War II Veteran serving in Korea. He retired from the Navy after 23 years of service. Charles was a member of the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary, a Revocation Officer and Examiner for the State of Florida, Party Chief Surveyor for General Dev. Corporation in Port Charlotte, Fla. He was an avid fisherman.
Charles is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marjorie Kidd of Perry; son, Jeffery M. (Carol Anne) Kidd of Palm Bay, Fla.; daughters, Margaret “Peggy” Horner of Perry and Carolyn Neal of Lamont, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Richard Kidd; and daughters, June Elizabeth Kidd and Marilyn Ann Baker.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at the Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception with Father Bernie Jakubco, MSC officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Burns Funeral Home. Interment will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
