Leroy G. Eastin, 88, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012.

He was born Nov. 8, 1924, and was the son of Lynn and Tresa (nee Thison) Eastin in Detroit, Mich.

Leroy served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and worked as a Die Maker for the Chrysler Corp. before retiring. He moved from Mount Clemens, Mich., to this area in 1987, and was a member of the VFW and the Charlotte Players. Leroy enjoyed going boating and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gloria; daughter, Lee (Jack) O’Connell of Brighton, Mich.; sons, Larry Eastin of Roseville, Mich., and Lynn (Nancy) Eastin of Warren, Mich.; granddaughters, Johnene and Renee; and three great-grandchildren.
