John J. Beransky, 92, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at his home, surrounded by family.
He was born Nov. 30, 1920, in Jersey City, N.J., to John and Stella Beransky Sr.
John served our country in the U.S. Marines, and had been the owner/vice president of Jackson Steel Products in Mineola, N.Y., before retiring in 1987. He and his wife moved to this area in 1990 from Whitestone, N.Y. John was an amazing artist of many talents. He was a master woodworker, an excellent painter, and created stained-glass art. John enjoyed his time working in his studio, often losing track of the hour, and was a dedicated family man.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen Beransky of Punta Gorda; daughters, Jayne Pastula “YFFB” of North Port, Fla., and Christy “Crystal” (Bobby) Federici of Punta Gorda; grandchildren, Jill, Brian, Tray, Jessica, Shane and Jeremy; and great-grandchildren, Anthony, Zachary, Sydney, Lexi, Michael, Vincenzo, Isabella and Sara.
