George E. Webb Sr.
George E. Webb Sr., 70, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and formerly of Danbury, Conn., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, in Spartanburg, S.C.
He was born Sept. 24, 1942, to Milton D. Sr. and Nellie (nee Owens) Webb.
George attended Danbury Schools, and was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Beckerle Hose Company of Danbury, and a 17-year member of the Deep Creek Elks Lodge in Deep Creek, Fla.
George is survived by his loving wife, Janice (nee Meade) Webb; daughter, Carol Achdou of West New York, N.J.; son, George (Petra) Webb Jr. of Jonesborough, Tenn.; stepdaughters, Dawn (Stephen) Murphy of Gardener, Mass., and Lisa (Edwardo) Caponera-Urzua of El Monte, Calif.; stepson, Mark (Diane) Caponera of Port Charlotte, Fla.; siblings, Gene Webb, Ronnie Webb, Gary Webb and Kim Webb; sister-in-law, Janice Webb; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, David, Robert and Milton Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Edgewater United Methodist Church, 19190 Cochran Blvd., Port Charlotte. A reception will follow the celebration of life at the Deep Creek Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to the Deep Creek Elks, 1133 Capricorn Blvd., Punta Gorda, FL 33983.
