John G. MacMillan, 88, of Fort Myers, Fla., passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.

He was born Sept. 27, 1924, in Fort Wayne, Ind.

John served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1950. John was the Executive Director of the YMCA of Fostoria, Ohio, retiring in 1986 after 25 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Moore of Bradenton, Fla., Betsy Burger of Liberty Township, Ohio, and Ellen Hannum of Salem, Ore.; son, David MacMillan of Salem; sister, Julia MacMillan of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan “Jody,” in 2004.

Memorial Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Emeritus at the Lakes, 7460 Lake Breeze Drive, Fort Myers. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Fla. Memorial donations may be made to the Geary Family YMCA, 154 W.
