DEEP CREEK — Authorities arrested two people Wednesday after they allegedly stole a purse from a woman pumping gas in Punta Gorda while driving a stolen rental car, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

A total of 19 charges were filed against Marc Ronald Jacques, 20, and Erica Suzanne Ruiz, 22, both of Miami. Both were charged with burglary, petty theft and six counts of possession of stolen credit cards. Jacques was additionally charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Ruiz was additionally charged providing a false name to law enforcement and violation of probation in connection with the incident.
