Two men charged with possessing fake checks, licenses
PORT CHARLOTTE — Authorities arrested two men Friday afternoon for allegedly attempting to cash a fake payroll check at a bank, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
Arrested were Antonio M. Lovette, 37, and Elmer Joseph McGuirt, 29, both of Tampa. They each were charged with 19 counts of possession of a counterfeited instrument, and one count each of grand theft, uttering a forged check and possession of a forged driver’s license in connection with the incident. McGuirt was additionally charged with an outstanding felony robbery warrant out of Hillsborough County.
