DEEP CREEK — A man was arrested Monday for allegedly stealing two 32-inch televisions from the Walmart on Kings Highway, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Donald Kirk Berry, 50, of the 300 block of Flamingo Circle, Deep Creek, was charged with grand theft in connection with the incident. Berry also was charged with violating his probation on separate charges.

According to a report, Berry placed the two televisions, with a combined value of $496, into a shopping cart and exited the store without paying for them. Berry was eventually confronted by authorities outside of the store, where he was arrested.

Berry was transported to the Charlotte County Jail, where he remains without bond.

CCSO arrests alleged purse thief

DEEP CREEK — Authorities arrested a man on Monday for allegedly stealing an elderly woman’s purse from her car while she and her husband were inside a gas station on Nov. 14, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

Tony Curtis Goforth, 50, of the 3500 block of Beacon Drive, Deep Creek, was charged with burglary, grand theft and fraudulent use of a credit card in connection with the incident.

According to a report, the victims entered the Murphy’s gas station, located in the 300 block of Kings Highway, around 9:30 a.m., and when they returned to the car they found the woman’s purse was gone. A short time later, authorities notified the victims that one of their credit cards had been used at another nearby gas station.

Surveillance video from the second gas station showed the license plate number of the individual suspected of using the cards, the report states. Authorities located Goforth at his home and arrested him on Monday, following their investigation. He remains in the Charlotte County Jail without bond.

• Joseph Kevin Eubanks, 44, 5500 block of Rosehill Road, Sarasota. Charge: violation of probation (original charge: DUI). Bond: none.

• Joshua Allen Kramer 35, 26200 block of Asuncion Drive, Punta Gorda. Charge: violation of probation. Bond: $2,300.

• Frederick Hawk, 25, 3000 block of Mancini Terrace, Punta Gorda. Charges: possession of a controlled substance, knowingly driving with suspended license and violation of probation. Bond: none.

• Raymond Lee Grace, 20, 11300 block of First Ave., Punta Gorda. Charge: petty theft. Bond: $500.

• Krishaun Katie Mercado Vitug, 19, 21100 block of Gephart Ave., Port Charlotte. Charge: petty theft, failure to appear and child neglect. Bond: $11,000.

• Daniel Wayne Woodard, 58, 4800 block of Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte. Charge: DUI, refusal to submit DUI testing and driving with a suspended license. Bond: $4,000.

• Michael Alan Spirk, 42, 4000 block of Pesola Terrace, North Port. Charge: violation of probation (original charges: reckless driving and violation of pre-trial release conditions). Bond: none.

• Christopher Patrick Bigness, 24, 8300 block of Bumford Ave., North Port. Charge: violation of probation (original charges: possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia). Bond: none.

• Donald Kirk Berry, 50, 300 block of Flamingo Circle, Fort Myers. Charges: grand theft and out-of-county warrant. Bond: none.

• Thomas Dipaolo, 30, 8300 block Roosevelt St., Englewood. Charge: aggravated battery on a pregnant victim. Bond: none.

• Tiffany Marie Cooke, 22, Bradenton, Fla. Charge: violation of probation (original charges: knowingly driving with a suspended license and failure to secure a bond). Bond: none.

• Meghan Christine Tipton, 29, 25800 block of Aysen Drive, Punta Gorda. Charge: violation of probation (original charge: petty theft). Bond: none.

The Punta Gorda Police reported the following arrests:

• Robert P. Polonis, 43, 1200 block of Slash Pine Circle, Punta Gorda. Charge: knowingly driving with a suspended license. Bond: $500.

• Roger Leon Burnett, 35, 600 block of West Virginia Ave., Punta Gorda. Charge: driving with a suspended license. Bond: $500.
