Denise Costa is happy to have someone follow in her footsteps.

The North Port resident’s daughter has become an avid runner like her parents. Darielle is an eighth-grader at Woodland Middle School in North Port, where she competed last year in the mile and 800-meter runs for the track team, and since has been running area 5Ks.
