During a volleyball tournament at North Port High School, the Port Charlotte High School junior varsity volleyball team won with a 4-0 record.

The Pirates drew the undefeated Lemon Bay High School Mantas for the first match. After falling behind 1-0, they came back to win the next two sets to win the match and give the Englewood team its first loss of the season. The Pirates swept the rest of their competition, winning each match 2-0 over DeSoto County High School, Sarasota Christian School and host North Port.
