ROTONDA — There weren’t a lot of smiles as the golfers came in Saturday at Long Marsh Golf Club. That could make for a tightly packed finishing day today at the Charlotte County Open.

North Port’s Jim Milford shot a 2-over-par 74 and played bogey-free after the seventh hole for a one-shot lead over Brendan Sheehan. Nine golfers go into today’s second round within three shots of the lead.
