Big showdown fizzles, Pirates blast Mantas

Conditions were right for a big showdown between two of the areas better JV volleyball teams.

The Lemon Bay Mantas came into the Port Charlotte gym looking for revenge over the Pirates after the Pirates had given the Mantas their first loss of the season. That loss, at the North Port tournament Sept. 22, staggered the Lady Mantas so badly that they finished a disappointing 1-3 that day.
