PUNTA GORDA — This season was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Charlotte High School girls golf team, but the Tarpons didn’t play like it in the District 2A-14 tournament Monday at Deep Creek Golf Club.
Led by medalist Kristina Schulz, who shot an 87, the Tarpons finished second in the team competition behind Fort Myers to qualify again for the Region 2A-5 tournament Vineyards Country Club in Naples on Monday. Last season with a more experienced team, the Tarpons advanced to regionals by winning the district championship.
