NORTH PORT — Sierra Jennings didn’t panic when she saw the ball coming back at her in the final minute Monday night. The North Port High School goalkeeper’s nerve paid dividends, denying DeSoto County a potential tying goal in a 1-0 victory at the Preserve.

Bulldogs forward Angelica Garcia played a through-ball that slipped teammate Lucero Perez behind the Bobcats’ defense, but Jennings stopped the initial shot. Garcia’s attempt to follow the rebound was cleared away.
