Short-handed Charlotte falls at Invitational

CAPE CORAL — Things couldn’t have been any tougher for the Charlotte boys soccer team. Already missing four players to injury, coach Mike Thomas had three others who missed Saturday’s Mariner Invitational soccer tournament because of sickness.

The result was not surprising. The Tarpons lost 8-0 to Mariner, allowed North Fort Myers to win its first game on a penalty kick, and blew a 2-0 lead and lost 3-2 to Riverdale.
