NORTH PORT — An SD memory card turned in to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of a North Port man on multiple counts of voyeurism and lewd or lascivious molestation. According to a North Port police report, the memory card was turned in to CCSO at the beginning of May. The man who found it and turned it in told deputies that it contained “questionable” videos of a young girl.

Deputies examined the card and found eight videos which showed an 8-year-old girl changing clothes in a bathroom, the report states. In one of the videos, the man filming — which an investigation later identified as Roland Albert Prenatt, 36, of the 4800 block of Cromey Road, North Port — can be seen in the video standing behind the girl and allegedly pulling her up against him. The last video also shows the victim using a prop to simulate a sex act, according to the report. In all but one of the videos, the report states the camera is hidden from view. All the videos were taken at Prenatt’s North Port home. It is unclear how the victim is known to Prenatt. Prenatt was arrested just before 11 p.m. Monday. He is charged with seven counts of video voyeurism on a child under 16, lewd or lascivious molestation on a victim under 12, and lewd or lascivious behavior by a person over 18. He remained at the Sarasota County Jail Tuesday without bond.
