The owners of Woodmere Village of at Jacaranda are seeking to have these vacant lots on Pointe Loop Drive, located directly behind the Walgreens and Center for Surgical Excellence medical office in Venice, added to their square footage allocation to attract future businesses. The two lots are a combined 10,000 square feet in size.
The owners of Woodmere Village at Jacaranda will be making a request to expand their land allocation by 10,000 square feet at the Sarasota County Development Review Committee meeting Thursday.
Woodmere Village is located on the northwest corner of the Jacaranda Boulevard-U.S. 41 intersection in South Venice. There is presently a Racetrac gas station and convenience store, the Center for Surgical Excellence medical office, a Walgreens drugstore and a BB&T Bank on the property facing Tamiami Trail. Geoffrey Morris, one of the property owners, said Tuesday the expansion is necessary if the property wants to attract new businesses in the future.
