FORT MYERS — Everyone knows Charlotte High School running back Clyde Newton can break loose for big gains. On Friday against Riverdale, he showed he can grind it, too.
The senior ran for 293 yards on 24 carries and two touchdowns — with an interception added for good measure — as the Tarpons overcame a sluggish start to bury the Raiders 48-25 at Karl Engle Field.
