Jury selection continues for double-murder trial

SARASOTA — Minutes after a judge explained to potential jurors Monday morning they would be hearing a death penalty case involving a double murder, a woman’s hand shot up. She told 12th Judicial Circuit Judge Donna Berlin the man sitting next to her was having an anxiety attack.
A bailiff escorted the man out of the courtroom at the Sarasota County Courthouse. The judge later told the group the man hadn’t eaten a good breakfast and didn’t feel well. He and many others would be excused for personal reasons.
