NORTH PORT — If you’re looking to watch something on television Monday night, and turn on ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” you may recognize a familiar face from North Port playing Santa in the show’s holiday special.
North Port resident Nicholas Trolli, 51, is president of The Amalgamated Order and International Fraternal Organization of Santas, a group of 2,000 Santas from around the world. Show producers contacted Trolli after he — and 200 other Christmas characters — helped demolish a house in Ohio for the show in 2010. They asked him if he could do the show in Lincolnton, N.C., and another in Texas, and he agreed to do the North Carolina show, while another Santa took the Texas gig.
