VENICE — Charlotte High School increased its cushion atop the district standings with a 78-51 romp against Venice on Thursday.

Charlotte (11-4, 5-1 District 7A-11) jumped all over the Indians (6-9, 1-5) from the opening tip, building a 10-point lead after the first quarter on the strength of the outside shooting of Jimmy Stewart (17 points) and Adrian Ivankovic (9 points), who combined to make seven 3s on the night. The Tarpons shot 58 percent in the first half and 55 percent in the second.
