Not that we’re keeping score, but it did seem a bit curious that the three recent appointments to the Sarasota County Planning Commission came from the northern portion of the county.

With the new appointments, only three people on the nine-member board now live in South County, and that’s only if you lump Nokomis into the southern tier. In the case of Planning Commissioner Bob Burrus Jr. we’ll do that, since his residence off Pinebrook Road in Nokomis puts him within an easy hop-skip of the city of Venice.
