Dr. William Charles Lovett, 66, of Sylva, N.C., formerly of Venice, Fla., died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at his residence.

Born Aug. 18, 1945, in Miami, Fla., he was the son of the late William B. and Marion Brown Lovett. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Medicine. He was co-owner, CEO and dedicated family practice/urgent care practitioner at Venice Walk-In Medical Center for many years. After retiring in 2010, he moved to Sylva, N.C., where he enjoyed family, fishing, hiking and gardening in the beautiful Smoky Mountains.
